Blog 10 iquest Update

I am currently interning at my Church as a youth leader. I go every Tuesday and Wednesday night for two hours each night.
My internship has been very complicated for this whole year. My old youth pastor/supervisor, Brad, had a baby and had to leave the job to have more time with his baby. A new youth pastor named Chris took his position, Chris has changed the program a lot. I was inherited by Chris in a way, he had different plans for the youth group. The position that I held with Brad was no longer an official position but he agreed to keep me as an unpaid intern, which I was ok with, the money was just a bonus for doing something I enjoyed. What I didn't know was that I wouldn't hold any authority at all, I use to give talks and organize games I no longer did wither of those. I had a big part in planning and running the youth group with Brad but Chris had a very different vision. Chris has been very set on his vision and refuses to take advice from anyone whether it be me, other employees, or students. Because of this I have decided to change my iquest project to another one of my passions.   I am going to start a fitness and personal training plan. I have been into fitness and nutrition for a couple of years now, I recently entered in a body transformation competition which I have been very dedicated to. As well as my own personal fitness and nutrition I workout with friends and I want to get them on meal plans and workout regiments with me. While doing this I hope to be able to shadow a personal trainer for a day or two as well as shadow an employee at a nutrition shop. I am looking forward to being able to spend my time working to better myself and helping my friends better themselves.

SMART Goal:
I want to make a meal and workout plan for my friend Kevin. I'll know when I'm done because I will have a written out Copy of his plan. I want to complete this by the end of December

  1. Hey Greg!
I was originally interested in your blog because my iQuest topic is psychology, but you've switched to nutrition and fitness! Luckily, my mom has been a certified personal trainer and nutritionist for over 15 years, and she has competed in many fitness and figure competitions as well. If you would want to get together and talk to her, I'm sure she would love to help!

  2. I'm glad to see you found a new topic that you are interested in. I am a baseball player at SRV and I my topic is baseball, but specifically training to maximize my potential for success next year playing college baseball. I do most of my wokr alone, but my mentor is Rich Cunha. He has been working as a personal trainer for a long time and would love to talk if you need any help. Good luck on your new topic. I hope it works out well for you.

  3. Brad, when writing your SMART goal, you need to be much more specific. Think about how you can write a SMART goal where it is specific enough to guide you to completion of the goal.
